According to a report by industry magazine Carbon Brief, natural gas power plants in the UK generated 31% of electricity last year, or 98 terawatt hours (TWh). In comparison, the remaining coal-fired power plants in the UK only produced enough electricity to meet 1% or 4 TWh of electricity demand.
