Since November, the test team of the High Voltage Research Institute of China Electric Power Research Institute has carried out research tests on AC bushings of high-altitude UHV transformers at the Yangbajing Test Base in Tibet. Given low temperatures, strong wind, snowfall and other environments, the team sorted out the list of problems in advance, formulated a series of emergency solutions such as test safety wiring, water injection and freezing treatment, fuel tank insulation protection, and completed the impact and power frequency voltage research tests of the casing. At an altitude of 4,300 meters, it was verified that the insulation selection of the AC bushing of the UHV transformer met the technical parameter requirements. The team has mastered first-hand observation data and obtained many original test results, supporting the research and development of high-altitude main equipment for China's Sichuan-Chongqing UHV AC Project.
